If you shake VERY GENTLY, and hold this shaker STRAIGHT UP, you might not get your shirtsleaves, shoes, and pants wet. Otherwise get to work with the paper towels and soda water 'cause you been slimed.
Maybe I'm nuts but it seems to me that the one thing a shaker should do is hold the drink in the shaker upon shaking, n'est pas?. Some fool been smokin' somthin' to send this dud to market.

Initially we received this item and it leaked. We returned it thinking it was just that one that was bad and the new one leaked too, just the same.
We then found that the reason is that the top must be snapped close. The directions read "Push Flip-Top closed", no mention of a snap. So you push it till it won't go any further and you think its closed. Nope, you have to push harder till it snaps closed. Then it doesn't leak.

We are martini lovers, but wanted a shaker that wouldnt freeze our hands. Unfortunately the insulation on this Metrokane Houdini Flip Top Cocktail Shaker is pretty much non-existant. In fact, the bottom of the shaker actually iced over as I shook it. Of course, I didn't notice this immediately as gin started flying all over my kitchen because the top doesn't seal.
This product is absolute rubbish.

Wonderful product. easy to use and ultra practical. Drinks do not spill when you carry them and act to insulate and maintain cool temperature. Easy to clean.

This is a fine cocktail shaker but, contrary to the label it is NOT dishwasher-safe!
