Product Description Looking good is in. Spending a lot of money on beauty treatments is out. Forget about $200 facial creams and break-the-bank treatments at your local spa. You can achieve the same results in your own home by just looking in your pantry, your fridge and your medicine cabinet. From the best-selling authors of The Black Book of Hollywood Beauty Secrets comes a new type of beauty book for our eco-conscious, economically challenged times. The Beauty Cookbook is the first-ever recipe book where what you create will be used on your body instead of put on your plate. It features inexpensive recipes, beauty treatments and tips for head-to-toe beauty. Readers will be able to achieve results in their own home with natural, fresh, very affordable ingredients that are probably already in their kitchen. Both authors have appeared on numerous TV shows, sharing their beauty tips, including Kym s role as the beauty expert on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and her guest appearances on The View as well as regular appearances on the popular Good Day LA. Cindy has done beauty reporting for national publications including People, In Touch and The New York Times syndicate, as well as appearing on the Today show. In The Beauty Cookbook, Kym and Cindy bring their unique, no-powder-puff-left-unturned knowledge of beauty, cutting-edge tips from experts, plus the humor and fun they are known for in their other books. Recipes include My Husband Ate My Facial and Stop Noshing on My Nail Care. They also offer natural beauty recipes from A-list celebrities that only confide their beauty secrets to them. Who leaves crushed rose petals in her bra to smell good all day? What actress slathers on sesame seed oil, but worries she smells like chicken stir fry? Who likes to take romantic chocolate bubble baths with her leading man? Learn how to have radiant skin, shiny hair, beautiful nails and a soft, smooth, thinner looking body without breaking the bank or even looking past their own home. Each chapter begins with a grocery list of beauty ingredients and then explains the treatments, how to create them, how to use them and why they work. Never again will women have to waste their money on expensive beauty products that contain the same basic ingredients that cost pennies instead of hundreds of dollars. Your spa is already in your pantry, resting on your closet shelves and even in your fridge. It s time to book your appointment!

Best book buy in a long time! August 5, 2010 Madeline B. Wood (OH, USA) I just bought this book last week. The whole book almost reads like it was written for me, TO ME. Kym and Cindy do such a great job relating to women. I'm 23 years old and don't have a need for some of the wrinkle treatments, but I tried an egg yolk in my hair tonight and what a difference! My hair feels great! Egg White face mask made my skin feel so good (I even used it a bit for perkier breasts!). I can't wait to get to the grocery store so that I can buy a few of this books staples (lemons, olive oil, baking soda, etc...). Very great buy and totally worth every penny (especially now that I'm on my way to saving so much money on beauty products!)
Great tips! June 24, 2010 C. Hernandez 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is full of really great, inexpensive beauty tips. My favorite tip is for brunettes: rinsing your hair with coffee to bring out the luster and shine of dark hair (that can sometimes look really dull). Great book!
