Product Description
Cake decorators will love this alternative to coloring drops and pastes. This gel is formulated with the necessary die concentration levels needed to achieve the most vibrant and brilliant colors available. Gel colors have a viscosity that offers the convenience of a pourable product, while making it easy to duplicate shades. Happily, gel color will not breakdown buttercream or non dairy icings as conventional liquid colors do. This set has just about any color you'll ever need for all your decorating projects.

Amazon.com Review
From Easter eggs to colorful cookies, Spectrum's gel food colorings provide a wide range of decorative touches, with gorgeous colors and an enormous range of depth. Each color--black, blue, yellow, green, pink, red, teal, orange, fuchsia, violet, sky blue, and brown--comes in a soft-sided plastic squeeze bottle that allows you to add a drop of color at a time to frostings and fillings. Paste colors are much more intense than more common liquid colors, and these will last through hundreds of fanciful cookies, providing stunning, professional-looking results. --Jill Lightner

5 out of 5 stars Bold, vivid colors!   August 27, 2010
Jill Spears (New York, NY)
These are the best food colorings I have ever used! The colors are so bright and vivid. Much better than the typical food colorings sold at the grocery store. I've made several rainbow cakes, cupcakes and pancakes using these dyes. My friends are always impressed at how gorgeous the colors are. I highly recommend this kit and would definitely buy again.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful food color gel!   August 4, 2010
R. Erbland (Lowell,MA)
This is the second time I have bought this set. The colors are marvelous and can be diluted with icing or even vodka for painting cookies. Depending on how much decorating you do, this set will last you quite a while. One word of caution: the colors are strong; wear an apron and gloves if you're afraid of stains, because it doesn't remove easily!

4 out of 5 stars Suitable for lab use, but not perfect   May 17, 2010

I purchased this product for water coloring for laboratory purposes. Although it does fulfill this task pretty well, it contains glucose, which sometimes gets stuck in the lab equipment. A similar product containing only colorant would be better for this application.

Great, vibrant colors in a very usable palette. Blends easily in fondant, icing and marcipan alike. Just a tiny drop is sufficient for an entire batch, which makes it extremely cost efficient. Shipped and delivered in Norway after just three days.

3 out of 5 stars This is the same product as Americolor, apparently   April 1, 2010

I just bought this set and I have not had the chance to try it, though I'm looking forward to it. However, I just wanted to note that to my surprise, one of the dyes actually had the "AmeriColor" label on it, which I thought was a completely different brand of food coloring. It was leaf green from AmeriColor rather than green from Ateco. Furthermore, the bottles were all completely identical between the Americolor and other Ateco bottles in the bo. I don't know if maybe they just remove the labels from AmeriColor bottles and add Ateco labels? At any rate, you can save a few bucks by buying the cheaper AmeriColor since I think it's pretty clear that they are the same thing...
