Fun! July 25, 2010 M. Marinos (Washington DC) This cotton candy maker is fun for an adult to use at a party. Be careful if you have had a few drinks or if there are children close (there is no safety mechanism near the middle spinning 'thing' and my friend almost had an incident). I was worried after reading so many poor reviews but I bought this machine for a party and it worked out fine. Let it heat up for a few minutes, turn off, then add sugar and turn it back on for cotton candy fun! Worth it for even one time!
Big waste of money! July 1, 2010 Ting I got the same machine from Walmart for $25. I was so excited to use that, cause I love cotton candy. But this just disappointed me big time. It took forever to make a samll cone(at least 5 minutes), and the sugar spilled all over the place, it just made a big mess. I used totally three times, now it is in my trash can. Junk!!!
Short term fun June 13, 2010 L. Louie I bought this as a Christmas present for my daughter. We had so much fun making fluffy and delicious cones of candy for the rest of the family but soon ran out of floss. I then bought this 4 pound bottle of floss but when I tried it out, the machine broke! Now I'm stuck with a 4 pound bottle of cotton candy floss with no machine to turn it into cotton candy! It's good for a few months, but it will break after awhile.
horrible May 10, 2010 artluver Aside from being dangerous, extremely hot and jumped all over the counter, it didn't work. I would not let a child near it.
Time Consuming May 1, 2010 E. Rosario (NY) I bought this because I'd recently rented a cotton candy machine for my daughter's party. It was way bigger than this one but I'd figure it would work fine for picnics and such. When I used it, it took a long time to warm up and to start producing the cotton candy. It takes a while to get a full cotton candy serving. Don't think I'd purchase it, had I known.
