broken September 2, 2010 Allison A. Morgan (colorado) i love cuisinart, usually. the blade to the blender stick does not rotate after 1 year of use and the chopper attachment i think worked ONCE, maybe. do not buy this!
has worked for years for me!! no problems. ace product! August 27, 2010 rawheid I purchased this particular stick blender about 4 years ago to help me with my soap making. At the time, i didnt think id ever use the attachments that it came with, as i really only needed the stick blender to help me get my soap to a "trace" faster than hand whisking. I make approximately twenty, 15 lb batches of soap per week, PLUS found use for the attachments to chop up other ingredients such as fresh lemons ( peel and all ) and other things that go into my soaps. i use the crap outta this thing!
I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever with this blender. In Fact, how i stumbled upon these reviews -- because i came here to purchase another one to have at my shop for when i do layered batches, so i no longer have to take a few minutes away to go wash the only one i do have off for the next layer.
cant say enough good things about this blender. its quiet, its heavy duty, does the job quick and well. ......i havent had a single issue with mine for 4 years so, thumbs up from me to cuisinart this product!
Unrecommendable product August 20, 2010 Kathy Cuisinart CSB-77 Smart Stick Hand Blender with Whisk and Chopper Attachments
Although bought two years ago, this blender had very little use and only for blending soup. It was used for about 4 months when bought, then put away. Upon using it now, the teeth are completely stripped. A product that has such high speed should not be using plastic teeth to join the attachments. Do not buy this product.
How does Cuisinart stay in business? August 10, 2010 SandyBeach (Honolulu, Hawaii) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this product at Costco yesterday. I tried it out last night. The motor unit attaches to the wand (the wand is the part with the mixing propeller.) The wand kept falling off. So did the whisk unit when I tried that feature. If you hold the motor unit with one hand, and hold the propeller unit with the other hand, and keep them pushed together, then the mixing wand works quite well. But it shouldn't require a two-handed operation. When will I learn to check the Amazon reviews BEFORE I buy any product? If I had read the negative reviews prior to the purchase, I would not have made the purchase. Now I have to try to repackage everything, locate the receipt, and take the thing back to Costco and stand in the customer service line. The build quality of this device is shocking. I had something very much like it, but made by Braun, that worked great and lasted for about ten years. I wish Braun had not gone out of the small appliances business. One thing is for sure... I will never again trust the Cuisinart brand name, nor purchase any of their products.
Junk August 9, 2010 Yossarian I read reviews complaining that the plastic "teeth" to this blender wears down, rendering the whole thing useless. Well, even with the caveat, I purchased the item and sure enough -- few months later, the teeth wore down and I had to trash the blender and the chopper attachment. I wasn't happy with the blender even before -- it doesn't blend food at the bottom of the cup and the chopper attachment doesn't properly "grip" and chop the food -- but the plastic teeth thing is really ridiculous. An important component that attaches the motor to the blade should really be made better. This is a shoddy piece of equipment and I warn others to stay away. Cuisinart really needs better quality control and should be ashamed.
