Product Description
By removing air from a jar you can keep the food within fresh three to five times as long. Save your self time and money using the Tilia FoodSaver system.

Amazon.com Review
For those who cook large quantities of food, FoodSaver vacuum packaging systems offer excellent protection against food spoilage and freezer burn. This jar sealer attachment fits on wide-mouth mason jars and is for use with any FoodSaver machine that has an accessory port. The top forms a tight seal on mason jars while the tubing removes air from the jar with the help of a FoodSaver machine. The jar sealer works equally as well in packaging liquid foods, such as jams or chocolate sauces, as it does for dry goods, such as brown sugar or spices. While vacuum packaging is not a substitute for traditional canning methods, it does keep food fresh three to five times longer than keeping it in a plastic food storage container in the refrigerator. --Cristina Vaamonde

5 out of 5 stars love it   September 1, 2010
Simplynatural
I adore this little gadget - works great for home shredded cheeses, spices, milk etc. It is also great for milk replacers (we run a vet clinic) and anything else you want to stay fresh. I went bonkers sealing everything including my freezer jams. I just wish the regular mouth worked half as well as this. Highly recommended, especially with savings over bags. The only problem is the cost of wide mouth jars and wide mouth lids - I just wish the regular one worked properly.

These lid sealers are so simple and so handy, I use them to vacuum seal a jar full of canned goods in the refrigerator all the time, easy access to a few scoops of dice tomatoes or corn etc then reseal. No worries about spoilage or waste.

5 out of 5 stars A must have for your FoodSaver!   April 28, 2010

I use this accessory for my FoodSaver more than any other item. The wide-mouth canning jars are easily cleaned for re-use and are less expensive than FoodSaver bags and canisters, which both break their seal too frequently for my satisfaction. With a canning jar, once you seal it, you can use the screw-on ring that comes with the jars to help keep the seal. Don't go without this accessory if you have or are looking at buying a FoodSaver.

My husband likes to make several quarts of salsa at a time, and these lids are perfect for sealing the jars without the trouble of canning. The salsa stays fresh for a week or more.

5 out of 5 stars Very Handy Device For Sealing Wide Mouth Jars   April 18, 2010
G. Scales (Mcminnville, OR United States)
This Jar Sealer is very sturdy and works great.
It does not come with a hose attachment.
You can go to Lowes and get a 1\4 inch irrigation connection with 3 feet of hose for about five bucks that works fine.
I also punch a small 1\16 inch hole in the top of the jar lid then place a piece of electricians tape over the hole.
Then when I seal the jar I just pull back the tape to release the vacuum. Which means you dont have to pry the lid off.
The tape is reusable many times.
Wash and spin your lettuce.......chop it up into pieces like you would to eat it. Then vacuum seal it in a quart jar.
It keeps fresh for days.
This jar sealer will work with any vacuum sealer with a 1\4 inch hole to plug the hose into.
I have a Weston Pro 2300 that works fine with this jar attachment.
Nice item and recommended.
