5 out of 5 stars Multi-use scale   July 20, 2010

Excellent scale. I am using it for food and for weighing yarn, as in "do I have enough to do this?", and for checking weight on large envelopes for mailing.

5 out of 5 stars A super scale in a small size   July 20, 2010
Grandma Nancy (Northeastern USA)
The Oxo Good Grips Scale is a beautifully designed item that works accurately to measure food portions.
It takes up little space on the counter and measures accurately to fractions of ounces. Once again, Oxo has
come up with a winner. It was a great asset in helping me reach my goal weight on a diet as I no longer had to guess at portion sizes of meat and fish.

I purchased it from Amazon after unsuccessfully looking in local stores for a scale that I liked. My order came quickly, with batteries included and I use it every day. It is an excellent product at a reasonable price.

5 out of 5 stars pleased--so far!   July 16, 2010

I recently purchased the Oxo Food Scale, and it works! Now, let's see how long it will properly function. It is easy to use, and seems to be accurate in weight.

5 out of 5 stars Lives up to all the hype   June 23, 2010

I've owned this scale for a year and a half now, and cannot find a single bad thing to say about it. It is extremely easy to use. I use it daily to weigh out the beans to grind for coffee, and for measuring ingredients for baking several times a week. Amazingly, to me, I've only had to change the batteries once so far.

Clean-up is a cinch. The display pulls out so cleaning it and its surrounds is simple. The platform snaps off for hand washing and drying, then back onto the base.

I do have a wish list for this fine kitchen appliance. I'd like to see half gram precision, though that's not at all critical for kitchen use. Like others, I'd rather have a decimal display for Imperial weights instead of ounce (one-eighth ounce) increments. I'd also prefer a .05 ounce precision. I don't see that being a hard thing to implement, as 1 gram is a finer precision.

I'd recommend that anyone needing a kitchen scale get this model.

4 out of 5 stars good scale   June 13, 2010

Great scale... Only annoyance is the extra button to press to turn on the light. Better solution would be simply to illuminate as soon as you start using the scale. *I believe they've changed this in later models.... Nonetheless - great scale - stands up to the OXO band quality.
